A distinct advantage with dry cat food is usually that it can stay in your cat’s bowl longer than wet or canned food. However, dry cat food can also turn stale and rancid, if left uneaten for a while, on account of its fat content. While dry cat food contains about 8-10% of moisture, wet cat food contains 75-78% of moisture. This is in fact an important advantage that wet cat food has over dry cat food. The higher water content of wet cat food ensures that your cat has significantly higher water consumption when compared to a dry cat food diet.
