Kyi-Leo Dog Breed, Breeders, Color, Coat, Information, Life Expectancy and Price

The Kyi-Leo can be described as a small, but a fairly solid dog, which looks like a cross between the Maltese dog and a Llasa Apso, from which it was bred.

With the accidental mating of a Llasa Apso and the Maltese, this breed came into existence in the 1950s. The Kyi-Leo was established as a dog breed in the year 1972 and is also recognized by the American Rare Breed Association. They are well boned, in comparison to their size and their teeth can meet in a bite that is as sharp as scissors.

The average life expectancy of the Kyi-Leo dog is between 12 and 14 years.

In size, the adult Kyi-Leo reaches a height of between 8 and 12 inches. They usually weigh anywhere between 9 and 14 pounds, which is between 4 and 6 kilos.

Perhaps due to their small stature, Kyi-Leo dogs are very agile, as they are light and quick on their feet. They have dark colored eyes and their nose is black. Most of the dogs that belong to this breed are black and white in color, but several of them could have a coat that is silvery-gray and white. Their fur coat is long and thick and needs to be groomer properly on a regular basis, in order to prevent matting, as their long hair covers the head completely.

Pet owners who want a dog suited for apartment life generally think about Kyi-Leo puppies and dogs. While these dogs can survive in an apartment, they are very active indoors, which is why they are much better off in a house which has a yard that they can run and play in. They are good with children, as well as other smaller animals. Another factor that pet owners should bear in mind is that they need to be walked daily, in addition to a lot of play, for exercise. Those Kyi-Leo puppies and dogs that do not get their daily walk are quite likely to display behavioral problems. The training of Kyi-Leo puppies should begin as early as possible and should also include socialization with people. These dogs have a stubborn streak, which can be controlled with the right obedience training.

The Kyi-Leo price could vary based on factors like the dog’s age and overall health, but the average Kyi-Leo price is around US $ 700 to US $ 800. There is a lot of additional Kyi-Leo information easily available on the net, but it is best to get the required details from a vet or professional Kyi Leo breeders.
