The East Russian Coursing Hound dog is known to have a lovely long coat that is rough as well as a undercoat that is dense, thick and allows the dog to keep itself warm even in the harsh winters of Russia. The East Russian Coursing Hound is a working dog and hence requires plenty of exercise. It is most happy to go on long runs if not being used as a hunting dog. The East Russian Coursing Hound dog breed is known to be very wary of strangers on account of their territorial nature. Hence those interested in purchasing and raising an East Russian Coursing Hound puppy should get the dog acquainted with the family members as early as possible. With regards to the grooming requirement of the East Russian Coursing Hound should not be bathed more than twice a month as otherwise the natural oils of the coat of this breed of dogs will be washed away. However because of the long coarse coat and the thick undercoat, the East Russian Coursing Hound  should be brushed often more so because they are also known to shed heavily especially in the summer time. Nowadays it is very difficult to get a true pedigreed East Russian Coursing Hound puppy as although many lineages of the original race exist even today, the ancestries of this breed have mostly disappeared and hence breeders of the East Russian Coursing Hound tend to charge a premium price for the East Russian Coursing Hound puppies.
